Interfaces

InterfaceDetail
Host connectionUSB-C receptacle
Internal hubUSB 2.0 4-port hub, 24 MHz reference
ProgrammerSTM32F103-based SWD, running Black Magic Debug
Serial bridgeFT231X USB-UART, virtual COM port
One-wireTransistor-and-diode circuit on board — no external adapter
Target header1×6, 1.27 mm — 3 G A R D C
ST-Link socket2×5, 2.54 mm, clone-style ST-Link V2 mapping

The programmer and the serial bridge sit behind the hub, so they enumerate as two independent devices at the same time.

Programmer firmware and host software

The programmer runs Black Magic Debug, identifying as Black Magic Probe (ST-Link/v2) v2.0.0-rc2-69-gd5466940. Use the Black Magic Debug App for SWD access and ESCape32 tools for the FT231X serial bridge; the Quick Start Guide covers installation. The ST-Link-style socket describes the connector wiring, not the USB protocol, so STM32CubeProgrammer does not drive this programmer.

Power

Input5 V from USB-C VBUS
Input fuse1 A resettable
Target supplyRegulated 3.3 V, filtered by a ferrite bead
USB port limit0.5 A, ±20% per active downstream port

Each downstream port has its own current-limited switch. During an overload the switch enters constant-current mode and reports an overcurrent condition to the hub. The available current from the 3.3 V target supply has not been characterized; it is intended for control electronics, not a motor stage.

Protection

  • 0.5 A current limiting per downstream USB port, with overcurrent reported to the hub
  • 1 A resettable fuse on the input
  • ESD/TVS protection on the USB-C data lines, on the signal node and on the reset line
  • Ferrite beads on the supply and ground running to the target

Physical
